It has become very mild ahead of the next polar blast pushing through on the weekend. Saturday will start out fine but cloud will increase along with the NW winds. Patchy rain will develop, mostly falling on the western side of the Divide but totals will once again be small. Overnight into Sunday the winds will continue to increase switching to the SW during the day and the cold air will move in dropping temperatures. The are likely to cause damage as gale wind warnings have already been issued for the Hunter. It will be very cold Sunday night and Monday morning with severe frosts next week, once the winds calm down.
