CATTLE CARRIERS TO PAY FEE AT GRAFTON SALEYARDS

Clarence Valley Council is implementing a new fee system at the Grafton Saleyards.

From tomorrow, carriers of consignment cattle will pay $3.30 a head to use holding yards at the facility before transporting stock elsewhere.

Council General Manager Scott Greensill says there’s always been provision for such a fee but it proved too difficult to collect.

Vendors using the saleyards for consignment cattle will now have to contact the facility’s operator before accessing the centre.
