Police are appealing for information after a child was approached in Yamba on Tuesday.
Police say a 10-year-old boy was sitting at a bus stop on Yamba Road when a man spoke to him, and began following him.
The boy ran away after members of the public approached the pair.
The man is described as being about 180cm tall, with an olive complexion and short black hair.
He was last seen wearing board shorts and a black-and-white skull-patterned hooded jacket.
