FARMERS RECEIVE A HELPING HAND

Grass cuttings from council owned land in Coffs Harbour have been turned into silage to help feed starving livestock out west.

The pilot project driven by the North Coast Local Land Service aims to provide much needed relief to farmers in the Walgett and Pilliga regions.

“We’ve got just out of merely 10 hectares, we’ve got 177 round bales which will be about four semi loads out there and this is just one small patch in one local government area on the coast.” Kent Lee from North Coast Local Land Services

Land owners wanting to get involved in the project can contact the North Coast Land Service on 1300 795 299.
