As winter approaches, doctors are reminding the community of the importance of good hand hygiene to prevent the spread of disease.
Already this season there has been a number of outbreaks of gastroenteritis in the Hunter New England Health area, particularly in aged care and child care centres.
Health professionals are reminding everyone to wash their hands regularly to prevent the spread of germs.
Parents are also being urged to keep their children home from day care or school if they’re sick.
