MORE FUNDING NEEDED FOR NSW LIBRARIES

Nearly 2,000 Coffs Harbour locals have signed a petition to highlight the funding crisis facing libraries across New South Wales.

Coffs Harbour City Council has formally endorsed the campaign in an effort to address the overall decrease in state government funding in recent years.

“We just want people who are interested to participate and put up their hand to say yep they value the service and they’d like to receive some more state funding.”

The NSW Public Libraries Association expects a total of 20,000 signatures will be collected state wide by the end of the month.
