A 22 year old mother from Coraki has died after the car she was a passenger in hit a guard rail and flipped while travelling on a notorious bridge at Naughtons Gap, near Casino.
“We believe that the young girl was ejected from the vehicle at the time of the collision. That would indicate to us that she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt” said Crime Manager Cameron Lindsay.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 2am this morning.
Police believe both speed and alcohol were factors.
“The warnings are clear have a plan B, don’t drink and drive, and don’t speed” he said.
The 19 year old male driver is assisting police with their enquiries.
Two other passengers were treated for minor injuries.
