An 18-year-old man and 20-year-old woman have been charged after leading police on a pursuit that stretched 80km from Long Jetty to Killara.
Shortly before 9pm yesterday police were conducting stationary RBT on the Central Coast Highway at Long Jetty, when a blue Ford sedan allegedly failed to stop.
A pursuit began along the M1 motorway where police say the sedan reached speeds of up to 170 kilometres per hour.
The pursuit was eventually terminated on the Pacific Highway at Killara, when it caught fire.
Two men and a woman ran from the car, with police chasing and apprehending the man and woman.
The 20-year-old woman, from Corlette, was charged with three outstanding warrants.
Both were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
