More than 40 firefighters from the Rural Fire Service are working to keep a blaze at Lennox Head on the far north coast under control today.
The fire is currently burning in the vicinity of Bundaleer Road, to the north west of Tobin Close and the north west of Camp Drew.
Backburning will take place this afternoon to secure the fire perimeter.
The blaze has already scorched through more than 500 hectares.
