Adelaide recorded its hottest December day in 84 years as the heatwave rolls eastward.
The mercury is on the rise with temperatures climbing into the 30s for many, only the coastal and high elevated towns will remain in the high 20s.
The heat is with us until Christmas. The change will move up the coast triggering some shower activity on Christmas Eve for the Central Coast and Hunter spreading further north on Christmas Day while cooling things down.
