A Tamworth man is in Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital after he was allegedly stabbed in the chest with a screwdriver.
Police say a man and woman were involved in an argument with a Robert Street resident yesterday, when a 21-year-old neighbour intervened and a fight began.
A man was later arrested at a Tingira Street home, while the victim was taken to Tamworth hospital before being flown to Newcastle.
The accused was charged with maliciously wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.
