Despite concerns from residents in Camden Haven over access issues during Ironman Australia, council has announced the bike leg of the course will remain the same.
The 180 kilometre leg is made up of two laps starting and finishing in the Port Macquarie CBD and travels along Pacific Drive, Ocean Drive, through Lake Cathie, North Haven and Laurieton.
A review assessment group was formed after locals complained over road closures at this year’s event, but after exploring several options, it concluded the existing course is most suitable.
