A home at Bellbird near Cessnock was destroyed by fire this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the Wollombi Road residence, which contained asbestos, just after 1:30.
The lone occupant of the home wasn’t there at the time, but a neighbour was transported to hospital suffering smoke inhalation.
