A 20-year-old man has been charged with intent to murder after he allegedly tried to drown and run over a man in South Kempsey yesterday.
Police allege the 20-year-old victim was held under water and then run over by a car on Crescent Head Road at about 2am.
He then made his way to a house on Lachlan Street, where he contacted police.
He was taken to Kempsey Base Hospital with minor injuries.
