MOSS BECOMES MARINERS’ MENTOR

Phil Moss has been officially unveiled as the new mentor for the Central Coast Mariners, replacing Graham Arnold who’s signed with J-League club Vegalta Sendai.

The new coach told media gathered at press conference this morning it will be a seamless transition.

“Taking over from someone like Graham Arnold can be seen as
massive shoes to fill but when he sets such good structures in
place it really is a seamless transition,” Moss told reporters.
“I would like to think I will keep the ship sailing in the same
direction as Arnie.
“I don’t profess to be Graham Arnold but I have worked under him
for a long time and we have very similar philosophies and
principles on football.
“We are similar personalities but obviously I will do things a
little differently because I haven’t had the experience that Arnie
has had.
“There will be tweaks here and there as I put my own my own
stamp on things and run things my way.
“I’m my own man – I think you have to be as a head coach.”

Arnold meanwhile has said he’ll miss his time on the coast.

“There is an amazing culture at the club, and I know that the
players, staff and management will continue working hard as they
aim to achieve the goals that have been set not only for this year,
but for the years to come,” he said.

“Phil deserves his opportunity to be a head coach in the
A-League,” Arnold said.

“He is a dedicated professional who understands the culture of
the club, has the trust of the players, and has the desire to make
the very most of this opportunity. I ask the fans to give Phil and
the club their full support.”

NBN News will have a full report on Moss’s appointment tonight at 6pm.
