A man has died in a head-on crash near Grafton, on the New South Wales north coast.
The Toyota Corolla he was driving collided with a truck on the Pacific Highway.
Police believe the local man’s car may have skidded into the path of the truck in the wet conditions.
Inspector Robert Hansic said,”the driver of the heavy vehicle is currently in hospital suffering from shock, the actual cause of the accident is currently under investigation but it appears obviously one car has veered onto the incorrect side of the roadway.”
Northbound lanes of the highway were blocked for several hours.
