MASTERS HERO SCOTT BACK ON COAST FOR PGA

Tweed Heads raised golfer Adam Scott is back where it all began.

The US Masters champion has returned home and is gearing up for the Australian PGA at Royal Pines. He’s teeing off today in a pre tournament pro-am.

It’s his first trip home since snaring the famous victory at Augusta in April.

“I’ve basically wanted to get back here since April,” Scott told AAP.

“It’s always good to see familiar faces and places. I can’t wait to get the tournament underway.”

Scott is the first Australian to be handed the famous green jacket and he says he didn’t appreciate the impact the win had in Australia.

“You’re so detached over there,” he said.

“It’s nice to talk to people and get an idea of just how much it
meant to them back here.

“Even last night at the function people were coming up and
congratulating me. It’s been very humbling.”

Scott will tee off in the event proper on Thursday morning.
