A smokey haze blanketed much of the Kempsey Shire this morning as windy conditions created more work for fire fighters.
The Dungay Creek fire has now burned five thousand hectares, and is currently within containment lines.
Meanwhile, the Maria River Road fire re-ignited, with crews backburning to prevent another flare up.
