European-contracted cyclist Sam Spokes has suffered an injury setback, breaking his collarbone in a Tamworth club ride.
Spokes’ Italian team has contacted him about the crash, but his biggest concern is his summer preparations.
“They’re obviously not too worried at the moment because it’s pretty early in the season in Europe-wise. I’m probably a bit more concerned because I have my own personal goals in January with the National Championships.”
But there’s some good news for Spokes – he’s been re-signed by Omega Pharma Quickstep for the upcoming European tour series.
