SOUTH COAST SURFER CLAIMS MATTARA CROWN

A tough day for the locals at the Mattara Classic, as a South Coast surfer stole the crown.
The Hunter was well represented, with teenager Jackson Baker and Paul Parkes both qualifying for the open men’s final.
With a strong offshore breeze making life difficult, it was Ty Watson who handled the conditions best.
The 23 year old scored a seven and an eight on his first two waves to easily take the title.
