UPPER HUNTER FIRE INFORMATION

Current Incidents
HUNGERFORD CREEK – Muswellbrook LGA: Wollemi National Park
Size: Approx 10,100ha
Fire is still going, burning within containment lines. Crews working on strategies to further contain and protect properties, particularly in the northern sections prior to the expected warmer weather towards the end of the weekend. This also includes containment line construction with heavy plant.
BLACKJACK MOUNTAIN – Muswellbrook LGA: West of Muswellbrook near Wybong Rd
Size: Approx 450ha
Fire is still going, burning within containment lines. Back burning being conducted to strengthen containment of this fire, there will be increased activity around the area including fire, smoke and emergency services vehicle movements.
BABUC – Singleton LGA: near Razorback Mountain on the western edge of Lake St Clair
Size: 120ha
Fire is currently being patrolled.
MT TANGORY – Singleton LGA: 15km East of Singleton
Size: 370ha
Fire is being controlled. Back burning being conducted to strengthen containment lines after heavy plant work has been completed today.

SHED ARM – Singleton LGA: Putty Road Howes Valley
Size: 160ha
Fire is currently being patrolled.
MUDIES CREEK – Singleton LGA: Army Range
Size: 3,300ha
Fire is currently being patrolled by the Defence Force. Fire is still burning in the centre of the Army Range but well within containment lines.
Advice
While no properties are under immediate threat, people living in the area should ensure their homes are appropriately prepared.
If the fire approaches your property, follow your bushfire survival plan.
People with Health issues should take appropriate precautions, such as staying indoors and closing all windows and doors to protect themselves from smoke.
