PORT’S PETROL PRICE HIKE

Port Macquarie is one of the top 10 most expensive places to buy petrol in the state, according to the NRMA’s Bowser Buster website.

The average unleaded fuel price in the last 18 months was 152.8 cents a litre, and the NRMA says a lack of competition in the industry could be causing the high prices.

The petrol price analysis found an average gap of 14 cents between the cheapest and most expensive areas.

Sydney, the Central Coast and Tweed Heads ranked as the cheapest places on average for unleaded fuel.
