An investigation has been launched into the blaze that broke out at Wyee yesterday, causing traffic chaos on the M1.
The Rural Fire Service were conducting a hazard reduction burn when a sudden wind change caused fire to jump to the other side of the highway.
The RFS’s Stuart O’Keefe says there’s always an element of danger when doing any hazard reduction burns but it’s important that they’re performed.
