FIRE CREW BATTLE SEVERAL BLAZES ACROSS THE MID NORTH COAST

Rural Fire Service crews on the Mid North Coast have spent most of the day battling a number of bush fires.

Low humidity and a south westerly wind saw a scrub fire north of Port Macquarie at Maria River become out of control yesterday, burning over 260 hectares of land.

Fires also broke out at Telegraph Point, Crescent Head and Hat Head, but today, all were brought under control.

The RFS is warning land owners to be mindful of weather conditions when considering hazard reduction burning.
