It’s far from an Olympic sport but 80 ten pin bowlers are taking a competition in Robina this weekend just as seriously.
Players from all over Australia, and New Zealand, are vying for $20,000 in prize money, and they’re hoping to raise the sport’s profile in the process.
“I’ve spent 10 years of my life just travelling the world bowling so there’s a lot of guys – that’s all they do for a living. So there’s a lot of money to be made overseas. Obviously in Australia the money’s not as big, but in Europe and the US yeah there’s full time bowlers out there.”
The winner will be announced tomorrow night.
