A post mortem will be held to determine the cause of death of a child whose body was found near Lake Macquarie this afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to an undisclosed location at Belmont just after 2 o’clock responding to reports a boy’s body had been found.
The boy is thought to be aged between 10 and 12 and was found 200m from Belmont Hospital near his home.
Police say it appears he had an asthma attack and are not treating the death as suspicious.
