The Newcastle Permanent has followed the Reserve Bank’s lead, reducing its variable home loan interest rates by 0.25%.
The Reserve Bank of Australia reduced interest rates to a 53 year low, dropping the official rate by 25 basis points.
The Permanent says the cut represents a saving of approximately $44 a month of $528 per year for those with a $300 000 home loan over 25 years.
