CHILLY WEEKEND AHEAD

Cold, south westerly winds are going to make for a very chilly weekend. The good news is the showers that are in the forecast for the Hunter and north west will be minimal so it will mostly be fine and dry with lots of blue sky for the north coast.

The big feature is the massive slow moving low in the Tasman. This will begin to generate a large swell which will move up the coast across the weekend causing more coastal erosion. It will not be safe for offshore boating in the south with gale wind warnings now current.

Surfers will find some great waves in the southern corners and point breaks. The best will be those with protection from the south west winds.

A long, cold run has settled for the next five days.
