WEATHER UPDATE: FINE WEEK AHEAD

Some very valuable rain fell across the weekend but more is still needed across the Upper Hunter as totals were small. 20 to 30mm was widespread across the NW.

The system that delivered the rain will now produce a large swell which will again batter the coast causing more extensive erosion. For experienced, fit surfers the southern point breaks will be crankin’.

Expect some very cold nights, especially inland, with morning frosts and fog patches and light predominantly southerly winds. Mostly sunny, dry days will follow with coastal showers returning to the northern NSW coast and SE QLD through the week.
