The region’s rescue helicopter has been recognised by the police force for helping locate a 16 year old boy lost in bushland near Condong Falls last October.
The teen was separated from his family on a bushwalk, and was winched to safety by the chopper after spending a night out in the elements.
“He was starving hungry that’s all he was interested in was getting some food but he was well.”
A certificate of appreciation was presented to crew members involved in the rescue mission this morning.
“It was really nice on behalf of the service and really nice personally too to receive any recognition.”
