A near tragedy at Mermaid Beach this morning after a 28 year old board-rider was pulled from the surf unconscious at around 10 o’clock.
“It looked like he was checking his board or leg rope but looked like he was doing it for too long, so I was going for a swim anyway and by the time I got out to him it was obvious he was in a bad way.”
Lifeguards and Paramedics managed to revive the man, who’s believed to have been suffering from a medical condition.
