POOL OWNERS URGED TO SIGN UP TO NEW REGISTER

Pool owners now have another incentive to make sure their backyard pools are up to standard.

A mandatory online register is now up and running, those who don’t sign up face big fines.

  1. I think this is a great start to making sure there’s less child drownings in backyard pools. I’ve seen first hand what this does to a family after my neighbour found her 2yr old son floating in their new pool. It doesn’t just affect that family…it affects all people around them. My husband & I helped in the ways we knew how. But their little boy wasn’t one of the lucky ones. He now has his angel wings & is looking over his family from heaven. RIP little Kyla <3

  3. Councils already have information on new pool constructions and owners have to ensure that safety requirements are met in a final inspection. It’s another layer of unnecessary bureaucracy that will do nothing about those who don’t want to meet their obligations or responsibilities as pool owners.
