DUNGOG NOT FEELING FLAME

Dungog is tonight considering whether to become the first Hunter council to pull out of the Special Olympics Asia Pacific games, to be held in Newcastle later in the year.

All councils have been asked to contribute $10,000 to the event, which is expected to bring 30,000 people to the region.

A report by Dungog’s General Manager says council is running at a loss, and recent flooding could contribute to its largest deficit in recent years.
