SURF CLUB DENIES POOR FOOD HYGIENE CLAIMS

Shocking photos have emerged showing, what looks to be, poor food hygiene at Southport Surf Club.

But the club claims, it’s been set up.

  1. the photos in question were not fake or set up.they were real on the spot photos of the conditions there.if you talked to some of the chefs there on their own they would back the claims there..to be honest the photos didn’t show all the bad things there..the guy in question did it out of safety for the public.and the health department did issue 5 notices of warnings..photos don’t lie.

  3. as an ex employee of the club I found the food & hygiene at the Surf Club to be of a very high standard & suppliers bringing fresh produce every day the chefs & other staff should be applauded for the way they handle this area especially the with the high volume of meals they serve at each setting, whenever I took my family out for meals this was our preferred venue & for the safety of my family I would not eat there unless I felt that their standards weren’t good enough, people come from everywhere to eat at this club lots of them come because the club was recommended to them, I worked at this club for 4 years in the reception area & everyday people would ask me to compliment the chefs on their great meals & great service by the rest of the staff

  4. I’ve been to this club countless time and have always found it to be extremely clean, well run and the food of a very high standard.

    It’s the highlight of my trip any time I’m on the Coast. I can’t wait for my next visit.

  5. why don’t you ask your so called boss at the southport surf life saving club about the workers club he was in charge to run..(kitchen also)he was told many times (also by the head chef) about the holes in the fridge seal doors,,mice were urinating and deficating on the meat inside the fridges..told many times about the problem..it was ignored,,until head chef told them “you realise you eat from the fridges also”..the next day the fridge seal guys were out to fix the problem..only if it affected them personally they’d deal with it.thats disgusting.thats not how a general manager should behave and act about his kitchen.he stopped tea towels from the kitchen.saying they were to expensive????WTF.. a chef needs a tea towel like he needs a knife..ovens etc..anyway I am glad for a long time of them ignoring the mice defication problem they ate the meat also…some consulation..that’s the type of people that we dealing with

  6. the photos were added to the 9 news from 2 diferent people..not just 1. who worked there..and I know of more chefs there who secretly take other pictures of the disgusting things that go on there.(wonder why they feel the need to?)its for there own personal insurance for when they get screwed over by the surf club..they break the law in so many places its not funny.yet time after time they seem to get away with it.all they care about is the bottom dollar coming in the door..unless things actually affect them personally,,,they don’t care..that puts staff and publics health n safety at risk..i worked there for nearly 7yrs..i should know what I am talking about.customers may say yeah I had a great feed…they might and that’s great,,but they don’t know what goes on behind the scenes….DISGUSTING

  7. when in doubt keep your snout out,goes the saying….seems to me even if half is true i would not be eating at this place…..are these peoples homes like this kitchen i saw on news?
