TAMWORTH REMEMBERS FALLEN SERVICEMEN

The National Servicemen’s Association held a memorial in Tamworth yesterday afternoon to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of national service training in Australia.

Locals took time to remember the 278,0000 servicemen who served from 1951 to 1972, especially the 212 who died in Borneo and Vietnam.

“We’ve had a good roll up to remember the fallen, the boys have paid their sacrifice, the ultimate sacrifice.”

The Association and other dignitaries laid wreaths before the flag was flown at half-mast.
