THOUSANDS OF FISH DEAD IN HUNTER-WILLIAMS RIVERS

The state’s peek environmental agency is tonight conducting further tests to find out why thousands of fish have died in the Hunter and Williams Rivers.

A lack of oxygen in the water after recent flooding is thought to be the cause, with the extent of the damage to fish stocks likely to be massive.
