COAST GIRLS CREATE HISTORY AT COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Central Coast under-16 girls water polo team has won the New South Wales Country Championship for the first time.

Coached by Paul Rowe; the side won a thrilling semi against Ovens and Murray four-three, and saved its best for last with an emphatic nine-one victory over Hunter in the gold medal game.

State representatives Talia Allan and Jess McCarthy were standouts in the historic win.

The Central Coast boys also reached the decider, going down 13-one to an outstanding Hunter side featuring Australian under-16 squad members Mitch and Keenan Marsden and Jake Robinson.
