HOOK TO COMPETE IN SUPERSPORT CHAMPIONSHIP

Taree road racer Josh Hook has secured a wildcard ride in this weekend’s Supersport World Championship at Phillip Island.

The 20-year-old faces a strong field of riders in the 21-lap race, but his team at Honda are confident he has what it takes to win the title.

Honda have also sent a specialist mechanical team from Japan to help build a new engine for Hook’s bike.

“It’s awesome you know and to have a good team and also Honda Japan over here to help us out. It’s a really good opportunity for sure so I’m pretty stoked.”

Hook will move back to a Superbike following this Sunday’s race, gearing up to compete in the Australian season.
