Those living and working around Banora Point might have noticed a vast improvement in the air quality this year,with the opening of a $35-million wastewater treatment plant.
The new facility has state of the art odour treatment devices, and also produces higher quality effluent than the old plant.
“We’ve decreased the nutrient levels in the water which actually contribute to improving water quality health and health of the river system.”
The upgrade also has the capacity to treat wastewater from an extra 27,000 homes.
