A retired Hunter priest, who became only the second Catholic clergyman in Australia charged with concealing someone else’s child sex crimes, fronted Newcastle Local Court today.
81-year-old Lewis Dominic Fenton is accused of covering up two offences committed by another man against a nine-year-old boy in the 1980s.
The offences took place at Nelson Bay and Stockton.
Fenton did not enter a plea and the matter was adjourned until March.
