PACIFIC HIGHWAY CLOSED GRAFTON

A number of roads in the Northern Region are effected by flooding and road damage due to heavy rain.

The Tweed Valley Way in the Murwillumbah area is closed in both directions as is Bangalow Road between Lismore and Bangalow at Binna Burra.

The Pacific Highway is closed at Grafton. Light vehicles can use centenary Drive to Bypass Grafton. Heavy vehicles are being diverted to the Summerland Way and Bruxner Highway.

The Gwydir Highway is closed between Grafton and Glen Innes, due to landslides and fallen trees.

A severe weather warning is in place. Rain and wind is expected to increase throughout the day as a low pressure system moves south from Queensland to the Central Coast, then ease later in the day.
