ROUNDABOUT WORKS FOR KEW

Construction work is underway to improve safety at an important intersection in Kew, with the installation of traffic islands, line marking and sign posting of the main street roundabout.

In 2011, council removed the traffic lights and installed a temporary roundabout at the intersection of Ocean Drive and Nancy Bird Walton Drive, labelled by residents as an “accident waiting to happen.”

Work is expected to be completed by mid-March, with an estimated cost of $100,000.
