Paralympic gold medallist Kurt Fearnley will soon have another honour to add to his extensive list of achievements.
The Hunter wheelchair racer has been selected to give this year’s Australia Day Address.
Fearnley says he’ll use the opportunity to draw attention to matters close to his heart.
“I get to stand up and speak about my view or my idea of where we are in Australia and where we’re headed, and as always I’ll be proudly representing Newcastle.”
The address takes place next Tuesday.
