HUNTER POLICE TO LAUNCH SERIES OF OPERATIONS IN 2013

Central Hunter police will launch a series of operations in the new year aimed at reducing the road toll across the region.

Three Local Area Commands will join forces to monitor trouble spots in the lead up to Australia Day, there will also be an increase in unmarked police cars targeting driving behaviour.

In the last three months, an average of one person has died each week on Hunter roads.

An elderly woman was killed in a crash at Clarence Town earlier this month, while on Boxing Day a 28-year-old man died after his car slammed into a tree near Cessnock.
