MAN ATTACKED BY SHARK AT DIAMOND HEAD

A Central Coast man has been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, following a shark attack on a mid north coast beach.

The 29-year-old was surfing with friends at around 10.30 this morning at Kylies Beach, south of Port Macquarie, when he was bitten by what’s believed to be a two-metre bull shark.

He lost two fingers and suffered a serious wound to his right thigh.

Paramedics have praised the quick thinking and actions of the man’s friends, who used their surfboard leg ropes as a tourniquet, before help arrived.

He was airlifted in a serious but stable condition, and he’ll undergo surgery this afternoon.

  1. Not the sharks fault, it was probably just trying to get close enough to see if that is really a StrungOut sticker on his board. Hope to see that surfer and shark a a show some day.

  2. I agree- the shark showed restraint once he knew the surfer was a StrungOut fan. The meal wasn’t worth losing a person who actually had good taste in music.

  3. Thinking the shark just wanted the sticker,
Hope he makes a speedy recovery
So he can get back out there ASAP

  4. I agree with Tom … Any strung out fan should see another day … What a legend and thanks bags for telling me to watch that clip knowing I’d pick up on that …

  5. Hope for a quick recovery, we know the shark feels bad after realizing that you were a fan of one of the best punk bands ever!!!!
