Returning to the Sydney to Hobart and for the first time since 2010, there are no Gold Coast boats in the iconic race.
Competitors set sail this morning, departing Sydney Harbour under sunny skies with a blustery southerly at their backs.
Several locals are on boats in the race.
Southport Yacht Club members Lisa Beecham and Roger Leech are both aboard a class three Beneteau 45 called “Carbon Credits.”
