Police are searching for two men involved in the armed robbery of the Lake Cathie Tavern overnight.
At about nine o’clock, the men, armed with a large knife and iron bar, confronted the 26-year-old licensee as he walked to his car after closing the hotel.
He was then forced to unlock the hotel and open the safe, before he was knocked unconscious.
An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
It’s the second time in a month that the tavern has been targeted by thieves.
