Two Coffs Harbour pubs were targeted by a pair of thieves, early this morning.
The Moonee Tavern was broken into at around 2am, and an amount of cash stolen.
Police believe the same men made their way to the Coffs Hotel, breaking in shortly before five.
“We had a couple of fellas come through the back of the hotel, down through the staircase and attack the door here.”
One of the men used a hammer to smash his way into the office, where a female staff member was working.
She managed to escape, before the masked thief stole a large sum of cash.
“They’re pretty brazen, I think they were pretty gutsy take it on. The cleaners were actually on the premises at the time, and there were other people that were preparing for work upstairs.”
Police are still investigating the incidents.
