It is absolutely great to hear that such event is taking place and that public together with lawyers, police, social media experts are addressing this extremely serious issue.
We have to put a stop to this – there are ways, all we need is open up to the problem and bring about changes.

Cyber-bullying can destroy peoples lives, and it is great that there are forums such as this one that are out there to address this growing form of abuse. I hope there will be more forums like this one.
Real Media Real Change is closely connected with Esoteric Women s Health who in turn are closely associated with Universal Medicine, an alternative heath group run by Serge Benhayon who has been in the news recently due to his controversial claims. The conference was at least in part motivated as a result of a think-tank by the group to respond to criticisms of the group and its leader which they see as ‘bullying’. In fact at a member level, criticism or debate about Mr Benhayons claims (reincarnation of Leonard Da Vinci, unproven therapies such as “esoteric breast massage” etc) are characterized as bullying and abusive. I am in fact one of the bloggers that the group is referring to as a ‘troll’ along with a dozen or so other concerned citizens who have witnessed the destructive outcomes of the ideas that Universal Medicine espouses and which many of the members slavishly follow.
For example, the metaphor that Sarah used in her interview about a ‘punch will bruise” is Serge’s words almost verbatim at a recent meeting where he criticized the media for going on a witch hunt against him and Universal Medicine.
Real Media Real Change is an ironic name, because they are in fact intent on promoting laws to limit freedom of speech. The groups run a series of closed blog sites open only to positive comments from their own members. They will no doubt ask for this comment to be removed or remove the link from their own site.
The legal expert they had speak mentions defamation, however what they fail to explain is that the criticism and objections leveled at Universal Medicine and Mr Benhayon is completely substantiated, and as the first response to vexatious defamation suits is truth which is robust and unbeatable defence.
Of course we all support laws that limit real bullying and eduction to stop young people bullying others. No one will support laws that would limit someones right to debate, object or expose the truth, simply because others disagree with it.
This is just another Universal Medicine Cult initiative with Serge Benhayon in the wings .

Real Media Real Change want to stamp out criticism of any kind of UM and the Benhayon Esoteric healing business , that is their goal – just another attack on free speech and opinion .

On the internet, one of the biggest issues I see is the anonymity of bloggers, whereby we see on a massive scale people saying things that they would never dream of saying to people face to face. Is it possible that the internet has allowed people to abuse others because they can? You only need to read the comments section of just about any article printed on the internet to read the outright hatred and abuse – this is not freedom of speech. People should not put up with abuse from anyone, whether it be in a relationship or online. As we would not encourage abuse to occur within a household, we should also say no to it occurring within a website. I support the right of websites to ban abusive content on their site. If websites do not do this, they are in fact indirectly supporting the abuse to continue. We need to consider this when we envisage what kind of world we would like to leave for our children.
