DRIVER SAFETY CENTRE APPROVED FOR LISMORE
Council has given the green light to the development of a drivers education facility in Lismore.
The project is the brainchild of local group, Southern Cross Lads, and was created in the aftermath of an horrific accident in 2006 that claimed the lives of four Lismore teenagers.
The facility will be used to teach practical driving skills and educate adolescents about the responsibilities of getting behind the wheel.
“We can teach responsibility, attitude, how to deal with peer pressure, making decisions, how those decisions can affect the currently and in their future lives.”
The group will need to raise another $600,000 to get the facility up and running.
